HEY THERE

We're the
Taylor Family.

We like to think of ourselves as intrepid adventurers – but really we’re just a family who took a chance and stepped out of “normal” for a few years to follow our dream to sail and discover the world together!

It’s been 4 years since we set off, and yes we’ve had our fair share of set backs, but mostly we look back on this time as the best years of our lives! Not only have we seen some of the most beautiful places on earth, but we have also been able to spend everyday together as a family, learning, working, exploring, discovering and having life changing experiences – together.

We believe in living life to its fullest, and treasuring childhood, so that the memories our boys have of their youth are filled with happy, healthy days spent with friends, family and adventure!

We hope to inspire others to step outside the box and take a chance to follow their dreams! If we can do it so can you!

The Plan
Our plan was to follow the trade winds. Sailing in the safest possible weather conditions and avoiding all the hurricane seasons. Little did we know when we left in July 2019 that 2020 had a Pandemic waiting for us!
Our Route
We left from Spain in the summer of 2019. From there we cruised the Caribbean islands before COVID hit in March 2020. Stranded in Colombia we eventually got permission to leave for Panama where we spent a year waiting for travel to resume. From the Panama Canal it was onto French Polynesia, Fiji, New Caledonia, Australia & New Zealand.

OUR MISSION

To learn about
& explore the
world together.

Our reasons for wanting to do this trip.

    You only live once
Life is to short to spend behind a desk! We wanted more! We want to spend everyday with our children, learning, growing & having wonderful experiences with them. Which is why we decided to go on this trip now and not once they have left home, or we had retired.

    Time
This trip is all about time. To stop the mad rush of normal family life and to slow down and enjoy our time as a family. Time to grow and learn together, before the boys are too old and need to start making plans for their futures. We want them to think back to their childhoods one day and think WOW!

    Adventure
We are an adventure loving family. We love going to places we have never been before and finding out as much as we can about those places. Discovering the hidden beauty, and exploring off the beaten track. Our love for the water and sailing made this the obvious adventure for us!

    Our Planet
We love travelling, and couldn't imagine a better way to see our beautiful planet than by sailboat. Hopefully we can do our little bit for the planet by taking what we have seen and learnt home with us to educate others on how precious our world is and how we need to save it!

Visiting some of the most remote places on earth

Our route took us via some of the worlds most untouched, remote places such as the Marquesas Islands & Tuamotu Atolls in French Polynesia. We learnt about the cultures and traditions in these far flung places and showed the boys how important these areas are to preserve.
