Meet the newest member of the Taylor family - Mokara

She is a fully self-sufficient 2014 Lagoon 400 S2 owners version, which means she has 3 cabins, the master cabin occupies the entire starboard hull.
Although she was built in 2014, she was only launched in 2016 by her first Swedish owners, who sailed her from Sweden to Spain over 2 seasons before putting her up for sale. Lucky for us that means she is in fantastic condition. Now the challenge is to keep her that way!

Length Overall

Her exact length is 11.97m We wanted a catamaran that was easy for just the two of us to handle. Its also not to big to haul out or moor in little out of the way harbours.

Beam

Her beam is 7.25m. This is the beauty of a catamaran, the beam is almost double that of a monohull.

Interior Comforts

She is a comfortable owners version which means she has 3 cabins & 3 heads, devoting one hull to the master suite.
  • 01
    Space
The Lagoon 400 S2 has enhanced cabin space, with widened double berths in all cabin versions.
  • 02
    Design
The profile of the Lagoon 400 S2 is cubist, thanks to its vertical bows and coach house windows, but this shape maximises interior space and keeps sunlight out of the saloon during the heat of the day.
  • 03
    Construction
The Lagoon 400 S2 has shallow-draft keels that are isolated from the hull skin; therefore a punctured keel doesn't mean water in the hull.
  • 04
    Comfort
The bridgedeck is high-set to reduce wave slap and impact stress on the structure.
  • 05
    Compliance
Buoyancy is designed into all Lagoon catamarans and the boats comply with Europe's CE standards for the unsinkability of multihulls.
  • 06
    Manoeuvrability
Despite the perceived bulk of a cruising cat, widely-spaced engines make manoeuvring in all but a beam-on gale quite relaxed.
THE PERFECT FIT

Finding & purchasing Mokara

The search for our perfect floating home was long, hard and expensive. After viewing over 10 catamarans in 7 different countries, when we finally stepped on board Mokara we knew our search was finally over!
FUNDING

How do we afford to take 3 years out...

The simple answer is - we sold everything, including our house to make this dream happen. We all know that boats don't come cheap, which is why we decided to take this drastic step in order to ensure we had a good, safe, reliable boat.
